South West Michigan Farm to Table Event

We did not come to SW Michigan for the farm to table scene, winery’s, breweries, and restaurants, although its part of the reason we stay.  This time of year this area comes alive, and even though Chicago is just right around the lake, there is no better place in the warm sunny summer weather, especially when you have food and drink offerings like SW Michigan wine country offers.

In combination with a group out of Chicago, the first SW Michigan farm to table event will be happening over labor day weekend, which will promise to highlight some of this areas best.

The event will be held at the Round Barn winery, unique in that it serves every type of drinker, they make their own wine and vodka and brew their own beer- often becomes a favorite stop for us on the weekends.

WTTW-Ch. 11’s Check Please hostess Alpana Singh, Mindy Segal of Hot Chocolate; with Chef Tim Sizer, Ryan Thornburg, Chad Miller, Jenny Drilon and Café Soe’s Chad Miller among others, will join together for a planned Labor Day weekend feast.

Tickets are already available for the extravaganza which will include winemakers, chefs and farmers from across the Lake Michigan area at Round Barn Winery in Baroda.
